mailed-by: ucla.eduBreaking News 5/16/07 2:30pm: LAPD is in the residential neighborhood west of campus searching for an individual who may have a gun. A perimeter is set up at Ophir and Landfair and Strathmore and Landfair. (Also near Strathmore and Gayley). Individuals in the area are being asked to shelter in place. Others will not be permitted to enter the area. People are being asked to avoid those streets. At this time we have no additional information on the circumstances of the incident leading to this situation.
So yeah. I'm going back to bed. Part II of the Career Advice article coming tomorrow. I'm done for the day.

subject: Situation is Cleared west of Campus
mailed-by: ucla.eduThe latest from UCPD is: Breaking News 5/16/07 3:20pm: The incident involving an individual with a possible gun in the residential neighborhood west of campus and related street closures have been resolved. There is no longer a risk to the community from this incident. At this time the incident is under investigation by the LAPD and UCPD.
